New Puppy/Kitten Care

We can’t wait to meet the newest addition to your family! Please bring your new puppy/kitten shortly after bringing him/her home so that we can examine it to identify any potential health problems early on. At your new pet’s first visit, we’ll talk to you about caring for your puppy/kitten long term and give you advice on vaccinations, nutrition, flea/tick & heartworm prevention, and spay/neuter options. Our recommended vaccination schedules) follow:

New Puppy Vaccine Schedule

  • Distemper/Parvo/Coronavirus Vaccine (administered every 3 to 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age.)
  • Rabies Vaccine will be administered at 16 weeks of age.
  • Additional vaccines such as Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Lyme, and Canine Flu will be discussed with you and given based on your puppy's lifestyle and risk.

New Kitten Vaccine Schedule

  • Feline Leukemia/Distemper Vaccine (administered every 3 to 4 weeks until 16 weeks of age.)
  • Rabies Vaccine will be administered at 16 weeks of age.
  • Additional vaccines such as Feline Immune-Deficiency Virus Vaccine and Feline Infectious Peritonitis will be discussed with you and given based on your kitten's lifestyle and risk.
